It’s truly incomprehensible how a night meant for fun and laughter could end in such a tragedy. I’m particularly moved by how Jacob, or Kuba as he was lovingly called, was someone who seemed to spread so much positivity and joy to those around him. It’s always the little details that stick with you, like his love for sneakers and colognes, or the fact that he had the drive and determination to purchase his own Tesla and was on the path to becoming an MRI technician. These glimpses into his life just make it all the more painful to absorb that he was taken away so senselessly. My heart goes out to Jacob’s family, his friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing such an inspiring soul. This loss touches so many layers of what it means to be part of a community and it’s a stark reminder that these moments of violence resonate far beyond just those directly involved. I hope justice is served, and perhaps some form of peace can be found amidst this chaos.
