I've been following the case of Erika Latavia Latham, and something that's been on my mind is the role the quick actions of the authorities have played in getting justice started. It's so rare to see such a rapid response in criminal investigations these days, and I truly hope it sets a precedent. It's incredibly sad that Erika's life was taken, and I'm thinking about her family and friends during this unimaginably difficult time. The arrest of Deandre Brandell Langhorne gives some hope for closure, but I'm curious about the details that led to his charge of manslaughter specifically, rather than murder. It makes me wonder about the circumstances around that night on Water Avenue. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy. If anyone has any updates or knew Erika personally, please share your thoughts or memories as we all keep her memory alive.
