I can't stop thinking about the ripple effect that incidents like this have on a community. Rafiel and Fitzgerald were so young, with their entire lives ahead of them, and this tragedy profoundly impacts their families and friends. It’s hard to fathom what they’re going through right now. There’s something particularly unsettling about the shooting happening in broad daylight at such a familiar intersection in the Avondale area. It kind of shakes your sense of security and normalcy right where you live, you know? Also, the fact that Markeis and Jordan Smart were arrested so quickly makes me wonder what evidence the police have and how they were able to connect them to the crime just days later. It’s crucial that justice is served, but this whole situation feels like a grim reminder of how real and close to home violence can be.
