It's so painful to hear about the tragic loss of Erick Alexus Artea Lerma. I can't even begin to fathom what his family must be going through right now, especially his wife and young children. I was struck by the details about how Rivera allegedly used his car to block Erick's vehicle before opening fire. It sounds like such a volatile, chaotic situation. One can't help but wonder if there were any warning signs leading up to this, or if it truly was just a spur-of-the-moment act of violence. The fact that surveillance cameras caught the incident may help piece the truth together, but nothing will undo the loss for Erick’s family. If Rivera’s claiming he thought Erick was armed, despite no weapon being found, I wonder how that will play out in court. My heart goes out to all those trying to come to terms with this senseless act.
