Has anyone looked more into the geography around milepost 134 where Bryan's truck went into the river? I’m curious if there are any unique features of the river in that area that could explain why his body was never found. I know the Lochsa River can have really strong currents and plenty of hidden obstacles underwater. I’m wondering if there's a particular spot along the river known for creating whirlpools or maybe areas where debris typically gathers. It seems odd no remains were ever recovered, especially when they eventually pulled out the truck. Maybe finding out more about the river's behavior might provide some new insights or lead to other search areas. Thoughts or ideas from anyone familiar with that region?

Has anyone else come across any information about the weather conditions on the day Bryan Opstedahl disappeared? I can't help but wonder if poor visibility or slick roads might have contributed to the accident when his truck went off the embankment into the Lochsa River. If the weather was bad, it might explain how the situation spiraled out of control so quickly. Has anyone in the area or familiar with U.S. Highway 12 around that time of year noticed if weather conditions often cause trouble there? It's been so long, but maybe some locals or travelers might remember something relevant. Any insights are appreciated!

Has anyone here spent time around the stretch of the Lochsa River near milepost 134? I'm curious about the conditions there, especially in late May when Bryan Opstedahl disappeared in 2003. I feel like understanding the river's behavior and the terrain might provide some insights into what might have happened to him after his truck went into the river. Was there a particular pattern of currents or any tricky areas that could complicate recovery efforts? Any locals or regular travelers who can share what they know about that area would be really helpful. It's such a haunting case.
