I've been following the tragic case of Lori Ann Perez, and something that really stands out to me is the impact it had on the neighborhood community. It appears that the police response was incredibly intense, with SWAT teams and a mobile command unit deployed in what's usually a quiet residential area. I can’t imagine how scary and surreal it must have been for the neighbors, especially with the shelter-in-place order affecting local schools and community centers. It sounds like a scene out of a movie, but this was very real for the people living there. My heart goes out to everyone involved, especially the families and friends of Lori Ann Perez. The fact that the investigation was forced to take a different path due to Richard Benjamin Charles’ actions only adds to the complexity and sadness of the situation. Has anyone heard if there will be any community support gatherings or memorials for Lori Ann in the area? It would be good for the community to have a space to process all of this together.
