I've been thinking a lot about the security measures at events like the World Catfish Festival. It's heartbreaking that a place meant for fun and community could become so unsafe. Was there any security presence at the festival before the shooting happened? And how are local officials planning to ensure safety in future events? I can't begin to imagine the pain that Makayla's friends and family are going through. Such a promising young life cut short so tragically. My heart goes out to the entire community dealing with this senseless act of violence. It’s so unfair. I hope they can find some way to heal and prevent such tragedies in the future.
