I've been thinking a lot about the brave 15-year-old girl in this case. It’s unimaginable what she went through being pursued like that and then hearing those gunshots over the phone. I can’t even begin to understand the fear and helplessness she must have felt. I hope she's surrounded by loved ones who are helping her through this incredibly difficult time. It's a horrifying situation for anyone, let alone someone so young. I also wonder how the absence of staff at the fire department played into the response and whether having immediate help might have made a difference. Sending strength and support to everyone affected by this tragedy in Covelo.
