I've been following the case closely, and something that really stands out to me is how deeply Mr. Lewis was embedded in his community, especially through the "1901 Project." It's just devastating to think that someone who contributed so much to revitalizing and supporting the area could be taken in such a cruel and senseless manner. Seeing community-driven projects flourish usually brings hope and a sense of safety—Mr. Lewis embodied that spirit. What's eerie is how calculated this attack was, given the planning that went into it. The fact that the suspects parked in a stolen car and waited for so long is chilling. And then, for it to be witnessed by police officers—it almost feels unreal. I truly hope that whatever motive comes to light, justice will provide some level of closure for his family and friends. It's hard to grasp how anyone could target someone who was such a pillar of positivity and transformation. Each time I think about it, I keep coming back to those left behind who have to piece their lives together without him. Keeping the Lewis family in my thoughts.
