I’ve been following the discussion around Jose Urena Moran's tragic death, and something that’s been on my mind is how public and brazen this act of violence was. It’s chilling to think the shooting happened right out in the open, in front of a deli no less, and so close to the elevated J train. I used to live near Fulton Street, and I can only imagine the fear and confusion that must’ve gripped everyone who witnessed this. What stands out to me is the impact on the local community. This wasn’t just a secluded incident—it was on a bustling street, potentially changing how people feel about their own neighborhood. Nobody expects this kind of sudden, extreme violence so close to home, right? My heart is with Moran’s family and the second victim who's still in critical condition. It’s unnerving to think how quickly life can change in just a matter of seconds. I hope the legal process brings some answers and maybe some closure, though I know it won’t make up for the loss. Just feeling for everyone touched by this awful event.
