Hey everyone, It’s just incredibly overwhelming to see yet another young life lost senselessly, this time in our own South Shore neighborhood. I wanted to point out something I’ve been thinking about regarding the tragic death of Kanyae KJ Franklin. We often hear about these drive-by shootings, but what about the community's role in potentially helping solve them? It’s usually said that people are scared to come forward, fearing retaliation, which is completely understandable. However, isn’t it more frightening to imagine our community continuing to suffer through such violence in silence? Kanyae was only 16, and his future was undeservedly taken away. My heart goes out to his family and friends in this difficult time. If anyone out there has any bit of information, even if it seems trivial, please consider reaching out to the authorities. Even the smallest detail could be the key to finding those responsible and bringing some form of justice to Kanyae’s loved ones. Stay safe out there, everyone. Let’s try to look out for each other and hope for a break in this case soon.
