I can't shake the sense of disbelief that such a promising life has been lost over what seemed like a senseless act of violence. Richard "DJ Zee" Barr was more than just a local DJ—he was an essential part of Austin’s Southside community. So many people are mourning the loss of someone who brought joy and music to their lives. I'm particularly troubled by the fact that he was walking away from the altercation when he was shot. It’s tragic that he wasn't given the chance to enjoy the arrival of his own child. I also find it deeply concerning that there are conflicting stories about what actually happened that night. It's vital for justice to be served, but it can only be based on what truly transpired. The claims from the gun store owner and the ongoing investigation make it hard to know what's factual at this point. It would be a relief for everyone, especially Richard's family, to have some clarity and accountability. Anyone else following this case feel like more voices need to be heard to piece this together?
