I've been digging into Maureen Fields' case and something that's really puzzling to me is how her car ended up in the desert near the California state line. The area is pretty remote, and it's odd that her car was found there with those personal items just scattered around, especially the knotted pantyhose. It almost seems like someone wanted it to look like a hasty crime scene. Could it have been staged to throw off the investigation or to lead away from the true location where someone harmed her? I wonder if any searches were conducted in the surrounding areas or if any other evidence was found in the desert. It's such a stark and desolate place to leave a vehicle. Anyone familiar with the area who might have thoughts?
