I’ve been thinking a lot about the role of ShotSpotter technology in Micah Willis and D'Ariz Bray's case. It’s one of those things we hear about in the news, but it seems like it really played a crucial role by alerting authorities right after the gunfire. It’s so distressing to know that events unfolded so quickly that night, yet there’s still ambiguity about what led to the tragic outcome. Does anyone know how reliable ShotSpotter usually is, especially in a situation like this where the timeline is so critical? I can’t even begin to imagine what Micah and D’Ariz’s families are going through, having so many unanswered questions right now. I hope this technology helps bring closure by leading police to critical pieces of evidence. It might not bring those young men back, but getting justice could be a step towards healing for their loved ones.
