I've been thinking a lot about the neighbor's role in these kinds of situations. The bravery they showed by rushing to help the injured 16-year-old is commendable. It really speaks to the community spirit in Kapolei. Despite not knowing what exactly was going on inside that house, they acted on instinct to try and help. I can't even imagine the kind of trauma they're dealing with now, having experienced such a violent incident right in their quiet neighborhood. It's a reminder of how important it is for communities to stick together in times of crisis, but also how much support they all might need moving forward to process this tragic event. My thoughts are with Noel's family and friends, her husband, and everyone else touched by this senseless act.
