It’s absolutely gut-wrenching what happened to Shakiah Hill. I just read that she was only six days away from celebrating her birthday when her life was taken. It’s so hard to fathom how someone could be taken away so suddenly, especially over something like an argument about money. Having a ShotSpotter system in Cleveland definitely helps speed up police response, but it’s heartbreaking that in this case, they couldn’t save her. It must provide some consolation to her family, knowing there's a system in place trying to prevent and respond quickly to such violent acts, but still... The fact that her brother is now reaching out to the community for help with funeral expenses just shows the unexpected nature of this tragedy. It makes you think about how unprepared we all are for such sudden loss. I can’t even imagine what her family is going through, especially being the only daughter with four brothers. I hope the investigation uncovers the truth soon for her family’s sake. They deserve justice for Shakiah, and I hope it comes swiftly. Keeping her family in my thoughts.
