Have any of you read about the handling of Nicholas Kittelson's release? It's mind-boggling and deeply upsetting. Ashley did everything right—she sought a protection order and tried to safeguard herself and her kids from a dangerous situation. Yet, despite the clear risk of releasing Nicholas, the system failed her completely by letting him walk free without posting bond. How is that even possible after violating a protection order? It highlights such a critical flaw in the process, where the safety of victims seems almost like an afterthought. My heart goes out to Ashley, her kids, and the entire community. They all deserved so much more protection and care. It's a harsh reminder of how far we still need to go in improving the legal system to truly protect those at risk.
