Hey everyone, I've been following the tragic events in Evergreen and my heart goes out to the families and friends of Melvontaie Loveless and Jakale Herbert. I can't imagine what they must be going through right now. One thing that's been on my mind is the role of community gatherings in incidents like this. It sounds like there was quite a crowd on West Front Street that night. I understand that people want to gather and enjoy themselves, but it makes me wonder how we can ensure safety in these spaces. Is there more that local officials or community leaders can do to make these events secure? Maybe better lighting, or even some sort of community watch program? I know it won't bring Melvontaie and Jakale back, but perhaps there's a way to prevent future tragedies.
