I've been thinking a lot about the role of community support networks in helping prevent situations like the tragic incident with John P. Kent. From what I understand, John was just trying to be a good neighbor and help someone in distress, and that decision cost him his life. It's so frustrating and sad to see violence erupt in what should have been a safe environment for those involved. I don't know the specifics of how much community resources were available in Humboldt, but maybe it's a wake-up call for all of us to ensure that there are effective lines of communication and support for those experiencing domestic issues, both for the victims and those trying to help. My heart goes out to John’s loved ones during this difficult time. Let's hope this tragedy spurs some meaningful conversations and changes in our communities.
