I just can't stop thinking about Kimani Thomas and her family. I keep wondering about the policies and checks in place at the Sonic Drive-In where her parents worked. How did a gun even find its way into that environment? I've read that they were moving in and out of work, but shouldn't there be some sort of protocol for ensuring the safety of children who might be left unattended, even briefly? It's not about pointing fingers, but this tragic event is a wake-up call for so many companies that employ parents. What could have been done differently to protect Kimani? It's heartbreaking to think a place where families gather for a quick meal could become the site of such tragedy. My thoughts are with her parents and siblings as they struggle through unimaginable pain.
