I've been thinking about how complex the dynamics were at Lake Sammamish that day. With 40,000 people present, it's so unsettling how someone with such vile intentions could blend in so seamlessly. The park was supposed to be a place of safety and relaxation. What stands out to me is Janice Ott’s kindness and willingness to help someone in need. It's a testament to her character that she offered help, likely with the best of intentions, despite the tragedy that followed. It's absolutely chilling to consider how the very qualities we admire in people—kindness, generosity—were exploited by Bundy. My heart goes out to the friends and family of both Janice and Denise, and to everyone who was deeply affected by these senseless acts. I think it's important we continue to learn from these cases, ensuring that awareness and vigilance become part of the way we look out for one another.
