April 6, 2011 was supposed to be just another day. Ali Hababi was taken from us far too soon, and the community feels incredibly empty without him. It truly breaks my heart when I walk by Union Supermarket now. Ali was more than just a store owner; he was a beacon of kindness to everyone who walked through his door. His dedication to making the neighborhood a better place was unmatched. Does anyone remember the events he used to put together for the kids? It's moments like those that remind us of the goodness he brought into our lives. I can't help but think about the fear and injustice felt that evening. How could someone do this to a person who genuinely cared about their community? My thoughts are with his family and friends, who have faced an unimaginable loss. Hoping that justice is on the horizon and that Ali's killer is brought to account. Let's not let his memory fade away; we owe it to him to keep talking and supporting one another.
