I can't stop thinking about how young Daylon Pernell is. It's hard to wrap my head around someone being involved in something like this at just 17. I can’t imagine what his family must be going through knowing he's being charged with such serious crimes. At the same time, my heart goes out to Deja's family and friends who are dealing with this unimaginable loss. The pain on both sides is just devastating. I hope the truth comes out and justice is served, but it’s just such a sad situation for everyone involved. If anyone else has insights on the broader atmosphere in Natchez regarding youth and crime, I’d be really interested to hear your thoughts.
