I’ve been following the case of Christopher Redding, and my heart really goes out to his family and friends. One aspect that's been on my mind is the location where it all happened. That intersection near the McDonald's and bus stop on West 238th Street was clearly a busy spot where students gathered after school. The fact that such a violent incident could happen in broad daylight where so many kids were milling around is terrifying. I'm just wondering what it says about the safety of our public spaces, especially ones frequented by young people. It's alarming to think that a place meant for kids to hang out and travel home from school became a crime scene. My thoughts are with Christopher’s family during this unimaginably difficult time, and I hope the community can come together to prevent such senseless tragedies from happening in the future.
