I’ve been following John Northrup's case for a while now, and something that sticks out to me is the timing between his last contact and being reported missing. It was almost two months before anyone officially reported him gone. Why did it take so long for someone to alert the authorities? Maybe his family thought he just needed space after that conviction? It's hard to understand how someone can seemingly vanish into thin air without stirring more immediate concern. If he really planned to start over in New York after his call, I wonder if he was ever actually seen there, or if the phone call was a red herring to throw people off. It's still so puzzling to me, and I hope they find some new leads soon.
I've been following John Northrup's case for a while, and something that's always puzzled me is the timing of his disappearance in relation to his criminal conviction. Has anyone looked into whether Northrup had any known contacts or associates in New York? It seems a bit odd that he would pick up and move all the way across the country unless he had a definite reason or someone to stay with there. The fact that he was "re-thinking" his life is pretty telling too. Could there be someone in NY who knows more about what his plans were or who might have seen him after that last phone call? I also wonder if there's any chance he tried to change his appearance to avoid being recognized, considering he wanted a fresh start. Would love to hear thoughts or any info others might have found while digging into this case!
