It's so upsetting to read about Skyy Ernestasjah Logan's senseless death, and my thoughts are with little Logan's son who has to grow up without his mother. One thing I've been trying to wrap my head around is the role of the firearm in this tragedy. It deeply bothers me how accessible guns can lead to such irreversible consequences. Jayvion was so young himself, only 19, which makes me wonder about how he got his hands on a firearm. Was it a legal purchase? Was it secured properly in the household? These questions might seem minor given the gravity of the loss, but understanding how and why the gun was in the home could be crucial in preventing similar incidents. It is truly alarming how one moment of recklessness, or perhaps something more sinister, can alter so many lives forever. Stay strong, Inman community. Let’s hope justice is served for Skyy and that measures are put in place to help protect others from enduring such pain.
