I’ve been closely following the tragic case of Gavin St Aubyn Boothe, and one detail that really sticks with me is how incredibly brave the first responders must have been that night. Arriving at the scene of such a violent incident has to be extraordinarily difficult, but they rushed to his aid immediately, working tirelessly to save him. It’s heartening to know there are people willing to confront such danger and trauma head-on in their efforts to help others. My thoughts are with Gavin’s family and those first responders who undoubtedly carry the weight of that night with them too. How do they process these experiences? It must be so challenging, and yet they continue their vital work. Hats off to them. If anyone knows of any resources or groups that support first responders, maybe we can shine a light on them and show our appreciation.
