I can't stop thinking about the 16-year-old who was in the house at the time. It's awful enough that this tragedy happened to Kruz and his brother, but I can't imagine what that teen is going through right now, knowing they were in the home when it occurred. They're likely feeling a mix of shock, guilt, and helplessness, even if it wasn't their responsibility. It's a brutal reminder of how quickly life can change and how fragile it all is. I hope they’re getting the support they need to process everything. In times like this, it's so important for everyone involved to have a network to help deal with the emotional aftermath. Losing a child from the community is something that affects everyone, and while we focus on Kruz and his family, let's also remember the others, like this 16-year-old, who are also carrying a heavy burden from that day. My heart is with them all.
