I was deeply moved when I read about the senseless loss of Hamid Boyd. I live not too far from Norristown, and it's unsettling to think about how something like this can happen so close to home. What really struck me is the footage showing those suspects together before the shooting. It's chilling to think about how calculated this seems. It's tough to wrap my head around how anyone can carry out such a violent act, especially with what appears to be such premeditation. Boyd's life seemed so promising—he had opportunities lining up and a young daughter who will now grow up without her father. My thoughts are with his family, especially his little girl, who will miss out on so much. I hope law enforcement is able to bring Ziyker Washington into custody soon, not just for justice but to prevent any further violence. It makes me wonder about the broader community impact, too. How do we address the roots of gang violence to prevent more tragedies like this?
