Has anyone else been following the case of Shaquille Simmons and Mary Visser? It's utterly tragic what happened at that Little Caesars in Tempe. My heart really goes out to Shaquille's family, especially knowing that he was expecting a child with his girlfriend. Having your life torn apart while simply doing your job seems so unfathomable. I find it particularly unsettling how deep jealousy can run. The authorities mentioned domestic issues with Benjaman Visser prior to the shooting, but it amazes me how such issues can erupt into such unimaginable violence. In cases like this, recognizing the signs of controlling behavior sooner could potentially make a difference. I can’t help but think about what paths were crossed and moments missed that could have changed this horrific outcome. Shaquille was just going about his day like any of us would, and now his family is left grappling with this senseless loss. Let’s hope justice is served and that this also raises more awareness around domestic issues to prevent such tragedies. To Shaquille's family, we see you, we grieve with you, and we won't forget his name.
