It's so devastating to think about what happened to Alex Carcamo-Danley. I've been following updates on the case, and something about the timing of it all really gets to me. 7:20 p.m. isn't that late in the evening—many people are just getting home from work, having dinner, or winding down with family. It's supposed to be the time of day when people feel safe, not the setting for something so tragic. I can’t even begin to imagine what his family is going through right now. It's terrifying to think that this happened in a parking lot where neighbors likely park their cars every day. It really brings home how quickly things can change and how violence can strike in places we consider part of our daily routine. I truly hope the investigation gets to the bottom of this and provides some semblance of closure to Alex's loved ones. They deserve justice, and hopefully, understanding why this happened will be a step toward healing. It's important to remember Alex as more than just a name in the news—he was a young person with a future ahead, stolen much too soon.
