Hey everyone, I've been thinking about Dominique Goodman a lot lately, especially about the bravery and strength it must have taken for him to respond to his daughter Amari's call that day. As a parent, there’s no greater instinct than to protect your child, and it’s clear Goodman was trying to do just that when he showed up to the Bojangles parking lot. It’s so shocking to think that a situation that started with a parent’s protective nature could end in such a tragic way. What’s also bothering me is how this whole incident could have been prevented if proper workplace protocols were followed. Why was Maurice Nolan Evans, the manager, even allowed back on the premises after he was supposedly told to leave? It makes me wonder if there were any previous complaints or warning signs about his behavior that might have been overlooked. It’s so critical for businesses to create safe environments, not just for their customers but especially for their employees. My heart goes out to Amari and the rest of Goodman's family, who now have to move through life without him. It's unimaginable, especially during this time of year when family means everything. I hope justice is served and that something positive, like improved workplace safety measures, can come out of this horrible event. If any of you have insights or thoughts on workplace safety reform, I'd be interested in discussing it further.
