I can't stop thinking about the courage Kauwela must have had in surviving his day-to-day struggles. To have journeyed all the way from Oahu to Los Angeles, facing the world despite his challenges with mental illness, is truly a testament to his resilience. It's tough imagining the fear his family experienced, first from his disappearance, and then receiving the worst news possible out of the blue. My heart goes out to them during such a devastating time. It's a small solace to know that there might be surveillance footage that can provide much-needed answers, and hopefully, justice, in understanding why someone would attack him at such a vulnerable moment. Anyone know if there's been any more information released about this footage? Keeping Kauwela and all who loved him in my thoughts.
