I've been thinking a lot about the circumstance of Drew Janssen's murder and how important community involvement can be in cases like this. Drew’s case is still unsolved, and I feel for his family who has no closure yet. This was a violent act that has left many in Waterloo reeling. As the investigation continues, I can't help but wonder about potential witnesses who might have seen or heard something crucial, given that it was in the middle of the day on a Sunday. People coming back from church, kids playing nearby—it’s hard to believe no one noticed anything suspicious. It makes me think about the neighborhood around Dawson Street. Surveillance cameras in homes or businesses might have captured footage that could lead to a break in the case. Even something seemingly insignificant could be the missing piece. If anyone is hesitant about coming forward, maybe for fear of getting involved, I hope they realize how vital their information could be in achieving justice for Drew. My heart goes out to his loved ones, and I hope the community rallies around them and assists in whatever way they can to bring some peace to his grieving family.
