I can't stop thinking about the bravery of the woman and the child who were in the house during the tragic shooting that took David's life. I can't imagine what they must have gone through during those terrifying moments. It's haunting to think that they were inadvertently caught up in such a violent and senseless act. My heart truly goes out to them. It's a reminder of how deeply these incidents affect witnesses, even when it seems like the focus is primarily on the victim and the accused. I hope they find the support and help they need to cope with what they experienced. Does anyone know if there are community resources available in Chadbourn for those affected by violent crime? It’s in times like these that we need to rally around each other and show our support in any way we can.

I want to talk about the implications this tragedy has on the children who experienced it. I just can't imagine the fear that woman and child must have felt being in the house during such a terrifying moment. My heart really goes out to them, having been unintentionally caught in the crossfire of something so horrific. It's just so unsettling to know that a place we consider safe can turn into a scene of chaos and loss in the blink of an eye. I’m also concerned about how this will affect David’s sons, Lawson and Callan, as they grow up without their dad. I hope that they have a strong support system around them to help guide them through this unimaginable loss. It's a reminder of how much we need to come together as a community to support those who are left to pick up the pieces after such an incident. Keeping all the families in my thoughts.
