I was reading about the Olivette murder-suicide case, and I can’t help but think about Lolina’s mother. Imagine the terror and helplessness she must have felt hearing those sounds from the basement and not knowing what was happening to her daughter. It's truly unimaginable. I admire her bravery and quick thinking in calling the police and doing what she could to protect herself. This whole situation just highlights the tragic reality and danger of domestic violence situations. It's so important that we continue the conversation around supporting victims and finding ways to prevent these horrible incidents. My heart goes out to Lolina's family and friends who have to navigate a future where she’s no longer with them. It’s so sad to see a promising young life cut short like this.
