It's been really difficult processing the loss of John Marshall Marrou. I didn’t know him personally, but from everything I’m hearing, he was a cherished member of the Volcano community. This senseless act of violence has left a deep scar on a tight-knit area where everyone seems to know each other, and it's hard to understand why this happened.
I've been thinking a lot about how the crime unfolded in broad daylight at a place everyone frequents, the Mountain View Mini Mart. It's disturbing and makes you reflect on just how vulnerable we all are. The fact that the suspect stayed on the scene is chilling. It's like they didn’t even care about the consequences of their actions—or maybe they just didn’t think it through. Whatever the case, it’s terrifying.
I've seen people discussing increased gun violence on the island, and I hope both the community and authorities come together to address it. If anyone knows more about gun-related incidents or preventative measures in the area, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Let’s keep talking about these issues to honor John’s memory and support his family and friends as they navigate this unimaginable loss.

I don’t know John personally, but Joseph Davis is my brother. I have only spoken to him a handful of times over the past 16 years. I’m at a complete loss as to what occurred or why and can only offer my deepest prayers and condolences to the family. I’m so sorry this even has changed all of our lives forever.
