I’ve been thinking a lot about the community response to Lamont "Pooh Bear" Smith’s tragic death. It really struck me how important those white wooden crosses are at St. Columba Church. They’re a powerful reminder that each life lost represents an irreplaceable person with a story and family left behind. Seeing the community come together at the memorial feels so meaningful, even amid the frustration and sadness. It's a strong message that we refuse to let these lives become mere statistics. I just hope that these gatherings can spark some real change and action towards reducing the violence. My heart goes out to Pooh Bear's family and everyone else hurting from this loss.
