Has anyone else seen the articles discussing how Carlin Elrod’s murder is connected to the rising number of homicides in Austin this year? It's chilling to think about how his death marks the 50th homicide of the year and is part of a pattern that's causing a lot of concern. I read somewhere that it’s the third killing in just a week. I can't imagine how his loved ones are dealing with this kind of loss amidst the wider context of increasing violence. It must feel like such an overwhelming situation, not only for them but for everyone affected by the rising crime rates. I hope the city and its people find some resolution soon. If anyone in the neighborhood saw or heard anything that could help catch whoever did this, I hope they speak up. It could make such a difference. His family deserves answers and justice, and the city needs a break from this cycle of violence. Stay safe, everyone.
