I've been following the case of Devonta Miller and something that's been on my mind is the role of bystanders in these tragic situations. I've been to the Bottom Line bar a few times myself, and I can't stop thinking about all the people who were there that night. Witnessing such a terrible event must have been truly traumatizing. I hope those who were present have access to support and counseling, as seeing an argument escalate so quickly into violence isn't something anyone should have to process alone.
Also, reading about how Pruitt allegedly fired into a group makes me wonder about crowd safety and how venues like this handle security, especially during events with higher attendance. It seems like such a delicate balance between providing a fun, spirited atmosphere and ensuring everyone's safety.
