Hi everyone,
I've been following the case in Albuquerque, and something that keeps haunting me is the motive behind Alexis Hernandez's confession. It's so difficult to wrap my mind around the notion that an "encrypted message from a cockroach" could have initiated such a tragedy. It makes me wonder about the state of mind Hernandez was in and what factors might have influenced his perception of reality. Mental health issues aren't talked about enough when it comes to crimes, but they can sometimes be pivotal.
I hope this case sheds more light on the significance of mental health evaluation, not only for those already involved in the system but for prevention as well. It's a chilling reminder that there can be unseen battles within individuals that lead to heartbreaking outcomes. My heart goes out to the families of Hector Rios and Yorces. I can't even begin to imagine the pain they are enduring right now. I hope they find some semblance of peace and justice through this ordeal.
Would love to hear others’ thoughts on the mental health aspect here. How can we better identify and support those who might be at risk before it escalates to such violence?
Stay safe, everyone.
