Does anyone else find it chilling how close to home some of these incidents are hitting? I’ve driven past the Sami Quick Stop countless times on my way to visit family. It’s always been one of those small places you don’t expect much trouble from, just a spot to grab a quick snack or drink. The thought of gunfire shattering such a mundane scene and taking Kenny Stanton's life is really unsettling. I read somewhere that gun violence across the city has been on the rise, but I didn’t expect it to touch such familiar places. Knowing that Kenny's death wasn’t the first one this year in Youngstown just adds to the worry. I feel for his friends and family who have to go through this heartbreak and for the community, too. For those who are local, are any community meetings planned to address the recent spike in violence? It would be good to come together and see what we can do to prevent future tragedies. It's a reminder that these are not just numbers but people's lives and families affected forever.
