I've been thinking about the impact of neighborhood safety in situations like Desmond Scott's tragic passing. It's so unsettling to know that something like this could happen in broad daylight in Browntown, right where people live their daily lives. I can't imagine how the folks around Stroud Street must feel now, knowing this kind of violence touched their community. I hope there's a renewed push for increased community awareness and maybe even more patrols or community watch efforts. The feeling of helplessness after such events must be overwhelming. My thoughts are with Desmond's loved ones who are dealing with such an immeasurable loss. If anyone has ideas for neighborhood safety initiatives, it might be time to share them and see what we can all do to help.
