I can’t help but think about Janis's note to her kids mentioning a "special friend." It breaks my heart to imagine how hopeful and trusting she might have felt, only for things to end so tragically. It’s unsettling that this friend never came forward after her disappearance and even more unnerving that no solid leads have emerged. Her white Mercedes being found all the way in Albuquerque shows that something went sideways pretty quickly. I wonder if they were planning to head somewhere else after the lake, but something interrupted those plans? The fact that this case remains unsolved is frustrating, to say the least. For the community and especially her family, I can only imagine the torment of not knowing what really happened that day. If anyone knows anything, even the smallest detail, coming forward could finally bring relief to her loved ones who’ve been grieving and searching for answers for decades. Wishing strength to them as they pursue justice for Janis.
