Hi everyone,
I've been poring over Michelle Sanchez's case and something that's been on my mind is the location where her body was found. Interstate 40 is a major highway that sees a lot of traffic, both local and long-distance. It's possible her killer was just passing through, which makes it feel like a needle-in-a-haystack situation for the investigators. I can't even begin to imagine the agony her family must feel, knowing that such a critical piece of the puzzle—where the murderer may have come from or where they were headed—remains elusive.
I wonder if there have been any similar cases along I-40, especially during that time period, that could offer some clues. Maybe there's a pattern that hasn't been connected yet? My heart goes out to Michelle's loved ones, who deserve answers and closure. I hope that with the passage of time, someone who knows something will finally speak up, and advancements in technology might uncover something new.
Has anyone else looked into other cases near that part of I-40? Hoping for any insight or thoughts on this.
Take care.
I think that to be the case. There is little information about her on the internet, but she was known to live in Albuquerque. According to a local newspaper, she was previously convicted on 2 counts of criminal trespassing in Clines Corners, NM. I'm wondering why she was even in that area if she lived in Albuquerque? Clines Corners and Albuquerque are an hour away from each other, and Clines Corners is really just a remote truck stop, nothing else around it. I would assume her murderer came from the west, possibly Arizona or California, as Clines Corners is east of Albuquerque, if it was a truck driver, but it could be possible that she was with someone that she knew.

She also had a mild criminal record at the time as well, and it's possible she decided to leave Albuquerque and lived by Clines Corners. I do wish this was investigated more deeply, but the only real way for this case to be solved is if DNA was present/collected at the incident. If it happened to be a trucker, finding the identity otherwise would be extremely difficult as there's probably hundreds of trucks that pass I-40 daily.

If more information was brought to this case about her life prior to her death along with new DNA discoveries, the case has a strong chance of being solved, and I hope that's what happens eventually.
