I’ve been following Ellen Greenberg’s case for a while now, and one aspect that really puzzles me is the role of the swing-latch on the apartment door. Some reports say it was locked from the inside, which was initially taken as proof that no one else could have been involved. But I’ve also read that a building manager mentioned this doesn't necessarily prove anything about who actually locked it. It makes me wonder how such a crucial detail could lead to so much misunderstanding.
It’s frustrating to think that something so seemingly straightforward is still unclear years later. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain and confusion Ellen's family must feel, trying to sift through these conflicting details. It must be so hard for them, knowing that something as small as a latch could hold answers—or at least clarity. It seems like there are still more questions than answers, and I really hope they can one day find the closure they deserve.
