Hey fellow sleuths,
I've been diving deep into the West Mesa case, and I can't stop thinking about the timeline of Virginia Cloven's disappearance and the eerie gap in communication with her family. It just hits me so hard knowing that her regular calls home stopped in the fall of 2004. I keep wondering if there were any signs before that time or if something major happened around then that went unnoticed.
The discovery of her remains five years later must have been such a devastating blow to her family, thinking back to those days when they were waiting by the phone, holding onto hope. It’s such a painful reminder of how quickly life can change and how some questions might take years, or even decades, to answer.
I’ve read a bit about the stormwater work and the collapse of development that led to the discovery of the graves, almost like fate intervening to reveal the secrets of the mesa. I'm really curious if anyone here has insights or thoughts about whether there were discussions back then in Albuquerque about potential hazards with old construction sites and what was being done? It's fascinating—and chilling—how a city's growth inadvertently uncovered this tragedy.
Sending love to Virginia's family and all those connected to this case who continue to search for answers. If you have any information, even if it seems small, please consider coming forward. Justice is waiting.
Stay safe, everyone.
