It's just so incredibly sad to read about what happened at Memphis Rox. I've been following this case closely, mainly because I’ve visited Memphis a few times and even had the chance to check out the gym. To know that Jarmond Johnson was taken from his community like this is just devastating. From what I gather, Jarmond was really a key part of the gym—mentoring new climbers and living out the values that Memphis Rox stands for. This gym isn’t just a place to climb; it’s a community hub, and losing Jarmond in such a violent way is a huge loss for that community. It’s hard to believe this all started from an argument between people who knew each other—just so senseless. I can’t help but feel for his family and the staff and climbers who are trying to move forward from this. I’m glad the gym decided to reopen though. I think continuing the work that Jarmond was so passionate about is a powerful way to honor him. It makes me wish I could do something more to help, but for now, all I can do is send my thoughts and keep his loved ones in my prayers.
