In the late summer of 1977, 25-year-old Sigrid Stevenson, a graduate student in music, was found murdered on September 4, 1977, on the campus then known as Trenton State College in Ewing Township, New Jersey. A talented pianist working toward her master’s degree, she was discovered nude and bludgeoned to death on the main stage of Kendall Hall, a performance theater where she is believed to have been practicing.
Her belongings, including a sleeping bag, were found near the piano, suggesting she may have been staying in the hall. The medical examiner reported ligature marks on her wrists, raising the possibility she had been restrained. Investigators interviewed campus police, college staff, and members of a theater group; polygraph tests were conducted, but no definitive evidence ever identified a perpetrator.
No arrests have been announced, and the case remains unsolved. Does anyone have information about Sigrid, Kendall Hall in 1977, or people associated with the theater program at that time?
