Thomas Randall was 17 and from Franklin Township, New Jersey, when he was fatally shot on the night of February 15, 1998. He and his friend Tanon Fitzpatrick had been at the Franklinville Skating Center on Route 47 earlier that evening, where an altercation reportedly occurred. Later the three young men — Randall, Fitzpatrick, and their acquaintance Shcray William Hill — were at the intersection of Delsea Drive and County Route 538 when a red 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a Pennsylvania personalized plate reading RAHEEM1 approached and gunfire erupted.
Both Randall and Fitzpatrick were killed; Hill survived with serious injuries and remains the lone living witness from the trio. Detectives traced the Jeep to its owner, who through an attorney declined to cooperate, and the vehicle was recovered in Philadelphia about two months later but reportedly yielded no usable evidence.
No arrests have been announced; a $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
